Me and my work

Developing computer systems to handle large quantities of science data

I work in the Scientific Computing Department (  at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, part of the STFC. The team I work with maintain systems to store and process the vast amounts of data generated by the Large Hadron collider at CERN.

I’m personally working to develop a Cloud system to run virtual machines. I am also involved in the running of the trade union at the lab and take part in a number of outreach activities – encouraging the public (particularly younger people) to engage with science & engineering.
