      Hi Amber —

My favorite kind of science fiction is about how new technology affects society. So for instance, there’s a great series by Mira Grant that takes place after the zombie apocalypse. Now people have to learn how to live *with* zombies (or at least, avoid them). The main characters are two teenage journalists.

Or — what happens if you never need sleep, because your genes have been modified? Nancy Kress who writes about that in “Beggars in Spain”.

Some of today’s technology (cell phones, skype) was only imagined in the TV & sf books of my childhood. So I think that scifi can IMAGINE the future — which helps create it.

Do you have a favorite scifi author or TV show?

      -Jodi
