Today I’m at a conference in Seattle. I meet with other scientists to tell them about my work. At talks, I tweet soundbites. And I sneak a peak at what’s going on elsewhere in the conference — if what’s going on in another room sounds particularly interesting, I move there to hear more! I’m always looking for new ideas and for new people to collaborate with. At the end of the day I have dinner with old friends or try to make new ones!
In the office, every day is different. I’m in France this year so the ONLY constant is lunch with the whole group. We talk about movies, politics, philosophy… anything but work.
Most days I:
– talk with colleagues (often online — I work with people in different countries!)
– read lots of email
– download the latest updates from other scientists (scientific papers)
– write about my work -
What I'd do with the prize money:
Train experts how to use Wikipedia in order to improve the quality of medical information the public has access to

Tell us a joke.
More an amusing observation: during the royal wedding a Wikipedia article on the “Wedding dress of Kate Middleton” appeared. People tried to delete it. Instead, we now we have a whole CATEGORY “Royal wedding dresses”.
