• Question: What do you hope to discover when you eventually finish building the telescope?

      Hey Gabby – there are lots of people working on the telescope who want to look at all kinds of different things – how the first stars formed, the gravitational waves caused by cosmic explosions, the cosmic explosions themselves… 🙂

      Personally, I want to look at clusters of galaxies. Clusters of galaxies are cool for lots of reasons, but the thing I want to use them for particularly is to measure the magnetic fields inside them. If we can measure the magnetic fields in enough clusters then we will be able to work out where the first magnetic fields in the Universe came from. It’s such a basic question – but we just don’t know!
