That is a fantastic question. Doing Science as a career has meant meeting some brilliant people that have become good friends, that are a big part of my life. It has also made me think more critically and logically about things, but also more openly. I think I was quite narrow minded before, but Science makes you think outside the the box, and explore all possibilities. That’s a useful skill in life I think, with so much of the media telling people what to think and do all the time.

Hey Keliah – science changes everyone’s life, that’s what’s so great about it! But working in science has been really awesome. As well as doing something interesting every day it’s also let me do things like travel all over the world, which is something I love. You also get to meet a really wide variety of people.

One huge impact on my life in science: I met my partner, a fellow geek, at a conference. (He was talking about wearing a heart monitor nearly 24/7 for a whole year!)

Science has given me opportunities to travel, and the freedom to question ideas — to ask “why?” and get paid for it.

This morning I was woken up by my alarm clock (accurate clocks – science) on my mobile phone (science) I unplugged it from the power socket (science) and stood up. My room was warm as the thermostat had made the heating come on (science). I went to brush my teeth (science) with some toothpaste (science) and then got in the shower, warm thanks to my boiler (science). I went down stairs and boiled the kettle (science), turned on the radio (science), and made a cup of tea (science). I poured the tea into my Thermos flask (science), checked the traffic on google maps (science science science) and got in the car (science)….
