Everybody who uses the Internet or gets medication advice from a doctor! I study how groups collaborate — then design computer systems that help.

One new paper is published every minute: how can we summarize all this info for doctors? Our approach: automate as much as we can, and help people work together efficiently on the rest.

Or: Wikipedia has fewer editors than it used to. How can we make Wikipedia become more welcoming to new editors, so they stay? Our approach: understand how newcomers get discouraged (deletion, negative feedback, being ignored, …) and suggest improvements.
