• Question: How much has your research improved during the last year?

      Quite a bit actually! At the start of last year, my models were very limited because they only looked at solid material in the process of planet formation. Now, I’m looking at the gas too. I’ve doubled in productivity 😀

      This year I got my PhD — so I’m now Dr. Jodi!

      To get a PhD, you have to do something new — and write a book about it. Then you have an oral exam. I gave a talk and then was grilled for a few hours by 4 eminent scientists:

      How did this improve my research? Writing & talking about my work helps me understand what I am doing and what directions to go in next.

      My research has improved this year because we worked out a new way to process and analyse our telescope data. That helped us make better images and so we could see more things!
