      Simulations are computer models that try and reproduce something we see in the real world – or things we can see. For example, I study the formation of planets. But we are yet to see a planet being formed. We can, however, see fully grown planets. So we use computer models to get from what we think created planets ( a big disk ) to planets, using Physics we think is behind it. If we can’t get the observed results (real planets) then it suggests something is wrong with our model.

      Analyse is looking at the data you get and trying to come up with some conclusions about what the data means.
