• Question: was it hard to get to where you want to be?

      Great question, Jenny.

      Yes and no. I’ve followed the path that made the most sense at the time — and I’ve had a bunch of different careers:

      – actuarial analyst (insurance math)
      – bookstore worker & gift department buyer
      – science library manager
      – web librarian
      – grad student
      – computer science researcher

      In that time, I’ve worked in the USA, England, Ireland, and France. (Not counting a short work experience in Chile when I was in college.)

      No single step was all that hard. The hardest part overall? Figuring out how my skills from one job were relevant to the next.
