It’s about how libraries can use “linked data” technology.
Linked data is a really simple idea. Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the Web, defined linked data with 4 rules:
1. Give things names.
2. Use web addresses — names that other people can use on the Web (This page has that kind of name — its URL: /bigdatan14-zone/2014/11/13/what-is-your-biggest-achievement/ The fancy name for this? “Uniform resource identifier” or URI)
3. Use web standards to provide information
4. Link to other stuff
