Under the influence of too many Indiana Jones films, I thought for a while that maybe I wanted to be an archaeologist… So I took history, Latin and even Classical Greek for GCSE (Greek wasn’t a standard option at my school but one of the classics teachers ran special classes for me and another girl, which was really kind of her).
I think those were probably my other favourite subjects. I hated biology and geography… And dropped them as soon as I could!
I did Economics to A-Level and for a long time I thought that is what I would do at university. I loved Maths, but that probably doesn’t count as ‘other’. I enjoyed playing in my schools wind-band as well, though I didn’t enjoy music lessons much. Food Technology was pretty great as well, though I guess in many ways that is a lot like science. History was interesting, but I wasn’t too good at writing the essays.
