      That project was actually very difficult for me for several reasons. Firstly, I had to design a program (in C) which converted between different celestial coordinates – that was tricky. Then I had to design a GUI based program which allowed you to simultaneously drive the motors, and receive and analyse the data on the fly. That was trick too, because I didn’t know Python which I used. Then I was to wire it up – that was the most difficult part, because I knew absolutely nothing about electronics. I ended up frying one of the motors.

      I’ve never used an Arduino in a research setting for anything other than that. However, I have one at home which I keep planning on doing something with. I see there are many different projects including robotics. I think I’ll stick to putting sensors in it – e.g. Using an LDR so your lights switch on in the evening.
