      The most amazing thing, hmmm….

When two clusters of galaxies crash together they compress the magnetic fields between them so much that they can create these giant structures (17 trillion miles long…) called radio relics which make weird shapes on the sky. They’re so amazing because (1) the physics is very cool, (2) they sometimes make very funny shapes (one is called the “toothbrush” relic, one is called the “sausage” relic…) and (3) they’re SO BIG!
